$22.1 Million Dollars in Storm Damage Miami County EMA States

In a public information release today, Miami County EMA reports Tipp City endured an estimated $22.1 million dollars in storm damage to both public and private properties. Below is a copy of their release: Miami County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) has current statistical information from the May 21st and flooding that occurred in our county. Damage estimates from public properties are in excess of $18.4 million and private properties are about $8.3 million. Public properties include items such as government buildings, property, roadways, and bridges. Private properties are individual homes and properties. These estimates are as of Tuesday morning, June 3rd

Public damage break down is:

  • $18.1 Million in Tipp City
  • $250,000 In Troy
  • $29,942 In the Village of Covington
  • $15,977 Split between Concord and Monroe Townships

Private damage break down is:

  • $4 Million in Tipp City
  • $1.06 Million in the Village of Covington
  • $2.36 Million in Concord Township
  • $743,900 in Monroe Township

Damage assessments were conducted throughout the county and there was 899 assessments done.
