Big Robot Game Café gets Facade Makeover

The Downtown Tipp City Partnership (DTCP) has teamed up with the Big Robot Game Café, Sherwin-Williams, and Fred’s Signs to provide a façade makeover for the Big Robot Game Café located at 114 E. Main Street. Matt Owen, Executive Director of the DTCP states that “this project will be the first in what’s hoped to be a series of Façade Makeovers for downtown Tipp City business owners.” The makeover is part of a program initiated by the DTCP that offers up to $500 in matching funds along with design assistance geared towards refreshing storefronts in Tipp City’s downtown commercial district. Owen states, “We hope that by providing these small grants we can encourage local Tipp City merchants to invest in their storefronts, which are really 24/7 billboard ads for their businesses.

To be truly effective, a storefront needs to present a strong, clear, positive visual image. Little things like paint color, lighting, signs, and window displays are all key factors that can influence a potential customer. We’re not the design police, we just want to help, Owen emphasizes. The DTCP is a non-profit 501c3 (pending) volunteer based organization that’s focused on helping to enhance, preserve, and promote downtown Tipp City, with a goal to make Tipp City’s Main Street an attractive place to shoppers, investors, business owners, and visitors. For more information on the DTCP or the façade improvement program, please stop by the Downtown Tipp City Partnership office located at 12 S. Third Street, or call Downtown Tipp City Partnership Executive Director, Matt Owen at 667-8300.

Special thanks go out to Sharon Bledsoe at Sharon Bledsoe Designs for paint color consultation, Fred’s Signs of Troy for the exterior promotional sign, and Sherwin Williams of Troy for donating the paint.
