Mrs. Heather Bledsoe’s third graders might be described as a very “kneady” class of youngsters.  Bledsoe recently incorporated a number of tasty activities to support the language arts curriculum surrounding the story of the week, Tony’s Bread.

Throughout the week, students not only made mini pizzas, but several parents volunteered to assist students in making Colonial White Bread.  Having sampled rye, pumpernickel, sourdough, Italian, cinnamon raisin, Hawaiian sweet bread, as well as the bread made in the story “Panettone”, Bledsoe said students agreed the Hawaiian sweet bread was their favorite.

In addition to language arts activities, Bledsoe said, the bread making also offered an opportunity for students to also work on their measurement skills.
