TIPP TALK – Spring Forward, Fashion Show and Goodbye!

Spring Forward – I know it’s hard to believe, but spring is here and it’s time for daylight savings time. I’m a fan of extra daytime – who doesn’t like more time to get errands done before the sun sets. First tried during World War 1 to save gasoline, this [...]

Get Social! Radio is now live on KIT-TV! Tipp City’s only live TV show, the Get Social! Show, is airing live on Channel 5 on Wednesday afternoons from 1-2:30 and simulcasting on internet radio at www.getsocialradio.com.  Our first two shows went well, and we’re looking forward to interviewing lots of interesting guests [...]

TIPP TALK – Happy New Year!

Back from the Break. Hey everyone, we had a great Holiday vacation – the kids were off school and I took a couple of weeks off from the column. Hope you don’t mind. My folks visited from Florida, along with my sister and her [...]

TIPP TALK – Catalog Shopping for Christmas
December 20

Catalog Shopping. The Hammacher Schlemmer catalog comes every year around this time, hoping to get me to buy some over-priced and completely useless items for my friends and family. Like the other catalogs that stuff up my mailbox, I’m at a loss – do people [...]

Weather Woes.
As I’m writing this, it’s Wednesday morning and it is snowing sideways outside my windows. Last night it was so windy that a light pole was down on Main Street near the Veteran’s Memorial. I love weather, and Tipp City has great, every changing weather patterns that I [...]

TIPP TALK – Thanksgiving and Homes for the Holidays

TIPP TALK – Thanksgiving and Homes for the Holidays

Thanksgiving. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving out there in Tipp City – it’s a great holiday, offering a chance to get together with the folks that you should be spending more time with anyway. If you haven’t yet, make sure to drop a dime (does anyone still use pay phones anymore? Are calls still 10 cents?) and call that friend or family member out of town. Let them know you were thinking about them. You know who I’m talking about – when I said “out of town friend or family member,” who did you think of first? Take a few minutes out of the football game and go give them a ring. You’ll both feel better and have a nice chance to reconnect.

Clarification on Stop Signs and Traffic Lights in Tipp City. Here’s something I’ve learned just since I started writing this column – I’m incapable of writing my column and having a conversation at the same time!  Last week my signals got crossed and I mentioned [...]

Stop Signs and Traffic Lights. Sometimes I find stop signs in town that just don’t make any sense to me – they are there and of course I stop at them, but they just don’t seem to make any sense to me.  The first one [...]

City Council elections and Levy Results are in, and you can read all about them in the pages of this fine newspaper, so I’m not going to cover them here.  I’m glad to see the Library Levy pass – it’s great having a library in [...]

TIPP TALK – ELECTION DAY CITY COUNCIL RESPONSES

TIPP TALK – ELECTION DAY CITY COUNCIL RESPONSES
November 1
by Greg Enslen
City Council elections are coming up, and I got a very interesting question last week from one of my inquiring readers: they wanted to know more about Katie Black volunteering to not accept the City-provided Health Insurance and wondered if any of the other candidates [...]
