Council Considers Ditching the Wrenches for the Mum

For years many Tipp City residents have been unable to understand or describe the City Logo. The idea that the logo illustrated our City Motto “Our image is growing” was interesting, as it more looked like a series of bent pipes or different sizes of Allen wrenches.

During this evening’s City Council study session Council decided to add a resolution to change the City logo from the “Wrenches” to the Mum.

The new logo was approved for use on our new city water towers, and the City Manager Jon Crusey asked Council this evening if Council would consider using it across all City materials.

A common theme expressed from several members of Council would be that the City not go out and spend money to replace everything with the new logo. The City Manager assured Council that they will deplete all existing letterhead, business cards and other items before buying anything with the new logo. He also mentioned to Council that with consideration Council would want to choose a date in the future to swap out the logos on all City vehicles as we would not want to have the old logos persist on vehicles for the next 10-12 years along with new vehicles with the new logos.

Council then requested that TippNews.com find out from YOU our residents what you thought of the new logo. Do you like it? What don’t you like? Please leave your comments here, our City Council members and City Manager will be reading these posts.. And for kicks I have added a poll to see what you think…
