TCAAC LogoThe Tipp City Area Arts Council has announced the winners of the first annual short story contest. There seems to be quite a few aspiring writers in the community. The Arts Council received 35 entries for the contest from all categories. Very impressive for the first year.

There were four categories for the contest. 4th through 6th grades, 7th & 8th grades, 9th through 12th grades, and adults 18 and up.

The winner in the 4th through 6th grade category is Kara Trimbach of Tipp City with her story, ‘Discoveries.’ The winner in the 7th & 8th grade category is Madeline Bauder of Tipp City with her story, ‘Fallen Angel.’ The winner of the 9th through 12th grade category is Lauren Brenner of New Carlisle with her story, ‘The Best and the Worst Year.’ The winner of the adult category is Wendy Bauder of Tipp City with her story, ‘The Price of Freedom.’

The winners will be awarded a $100 savings bond at the Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 4th at the Zion Lutheran Church. The tree lighting starts at 7:00 pm, the award ceremony will be at 7:30 pm and the Community Band will perform immediately afterward. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy the festivities.

Congratulations to all of the winners! The Tipp City Area Arts Council would also like to announce that they will be holding a Poetry Contest that will end in April. The dates have not been finalized yet. More information will be posted on TippNews Daily very soon.
