via GregEnslen.com | Greg’s Ramblings, 05/01/13: Happenings Around TownIt’s springtime in Tipp City, and with the change of seasons comes a growing number of events and outdoor activities. Here are a few upcoming activities in the area that I’m excited about!

FifthThirdIt’s Garage Sale Time!

Easily one of my favorite springtime events in Tipp City, the annual Citywide Garage Sale is back! The great folks at Tipp Monroe Community Services sponsor this annual event, which brings in hundreds of interested shoppers into the area, scouring the garage sales. Maps of the area garage sales and other information are available at local stores, so ask! This year, downtown businesses and merchants will be joining the fun sidewalk and alley sales — and yes, despite the construction, ALL stores and restaurants are OPEN FOR BUSINESS! I also always see roving people in trucks searching alleys and curbs for discarded items, so if you’ve got an old couch or table you want to get rid of, put it out by the curb this Saturday and watch it MAGICALLY disappear! When: Saturday, May 4; Where: All over Tipp City, OH; Info: 667-8631

Taste of Tipp Business Expo

This local business expo is a great way to catch up with local business owners and other entrepreneurs as they gather at the Ginghamsburg Church for the annual event. I’ve also heard that many local non-profits will be in attendance as well, so check it out! The Taste of Tipp Business Expo, presented by Voss Honda, will feature over 70 exhibitors, including 10 area restaurants. Admission is $5 cash at the door and includes food samples, cash prizes and business giveaways. When: Thursday, May 2, 4:30 – 7:30p; Where: Ginghamsburg Church, 6759 S. County Rd 25A, Tipp City, OH; Info: 937.667.8300, www.tippcitychamber.org, info@tippcitychamber.org

“Fifth Third Day” Customer Appreciation Event

The great folks out at Fifth Third are holding their annual customer appreciation event on Friday May 3rd. Fifth Third Bank will celebrate its annual “Fifth Third Day” at the Tipp City Branch at 1551 West Main Street. They will be grilling out hot dogs from 11am-3pm, and members of the Tipp City Police Department will also be on hand to provide child seat safety checks and child fingerprinting. When: Friday, May 3, 11am-3pm; Where: Fifth Third Bank, 1551 West Main Street, Tipp City, OH 45371

Ham It Up Productions Presents “A Hairy Tale”

More details from Ham It Up: “The supremely bratty Prince Rupert and the equally obnoxious Princess Iphigenia have been exiled to the wild woods of Wychwood and can’t return home until they find true love. But who would love such spoiled brats? Could it be Rapunzel and her brother Bill, trapped in an enchanted tower because they refused to get a haircut? Or perhaps Elton and his sister Ernestine, peasant children who sell all the family’s electronics for a measly five beans that might be magic? With a fairy-tale committee that includes a super-cool big bad wolf and a bumbling fairy godmother making the rules, this romp through the forest of Wychwood is filled with twists and turns.”Kicking off 18 years of entertainment at the Tipp Roller Mill, Harriet Bergman and her local children’s theater troupe will present “A Hairy Tale” this spring. With unforgettable characters like Paprika (the lost Spice Girl) and a pair of paparazzi desperate for a photo of Rapunzel, “A Hairy Tale” will have you laughing until the curtain falls and everyone (okay, almost everyone) has learned the meaning of true love, true sacrifice and truly hilarious storytelling.

Tickets are $8 – Adults and $4 – Students K-12. Ticket Reservations can be made at the Hotel Gallery by calling 937-667-3696 or purchased at the door 30 min. prior to show time. When: Friday, May 3 — Sunday, May 5; Where: Tipp Roller Mill, 225 E Main St, Tipp City, OH 45371; Info: www.hamitup.org, ham.itup@yahoo.com
