It’s a short week this week for activities but a big week on family as the Milton-Union Public Library takes time to celebrate Thanksgiving too.
First, on Monday, Nov. 24, the Crafty Listeners gather from 1-2:30 p.m. They listen to an audiobook while working on joint and individual craft projects. Both experienced crafters or those wanting to learn are welcome. They are currently listening to the Christmas romance “Starry Night” by Debbie Macomber.
Also on Monday is Buddy Reading from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Buddy Reading pairs a teen or adult reading mentor with beginning readers to help encourage greater reading ease, enjoyment and comprehension.
On Tuesday, Nov. 25, Tiny Tots meets from 1-1:30 p.m. This is an opportunity for children from birth to 3-years-old and their caretakers to hear developmentally appropriate stories, play games, sing songs, and do other activities with children’s librarian Wendy Heisey. It’s a lot of noise but a lot of fun!
With the holiday right around the corner, Story Times on Wednesday, Nov. 26, will revolve around Thanksgiving and Indians. Children’s librarian Wendy Heisey leads the story times at 10:30 a.m. and at 1:30 p.m. Stories, crafts, games and puppet shows are included in the activities for preschool children and their caretakers.
The library will be closed on Thanksgiving, but is open for those who want to avoid the ‘black Friday’ shopping craze at 9 a.m. Friday.
