Library News: 11/26/08

Family holiday celebrations top the list of upcoming events at Tipp City Public Library. Make plans now to attend either Wednesday, Dec. 10 or Thursday, Dec. 11, at 6:30 p.m.
Children will have an opportunity to visit with Santa, and families will share in making a holiday ornament that’s sure to bring back happy memories for years to come. Also, there will be games, and treats for all. Registration is required, so call 667-3826, and get your family signed up today.

HOLIDAY MEAL PLANNING
Learn new ways to please family and guests during the holiday season when you attend Holiday Meal Ideas with Bonnie Sutherly at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 09. This program is all about great ideas that are quick, easy, and economical. Registration is required.

ATTENTION STITCHERS
Enjoy a relaxed setting, hot tea, and the company of other needle workers at the next meeting of the library’s SIT-N-STITCH group at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 11. Expert needle worker, Karen Jameson will be available to get beginners started with knitting, crochet, or cross-stitch; and, share great tips for everyone. The library can provide supplies for novice knitters. Registration is not required.

OTAKU MEETING
Do you know any teens who are interested in manga or anime? Make sure they know about the library’s Otaku Club which meets next on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 1 to 3 p.m. Fans of this genre preview new anime, critique current manga titles, and nosh on authentic Japanese snack foods. No registration required.

LIBRARY SCRIBES
Anyone interested in becoming a better writer is invited to the next gathering of the Tipp City Library Scribes on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. Attend to get inspired, discuss projects, and share tips about writing and the publishing business. No registration required.

FRIENDS MEETING
The Friends of the Tipp City Public Library will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11. The meeting is open to the public, particularly anyone interested in participating in Friends’ work. Friends meet the second Thursday of each month. No registration required.

Consider this selection of ongoing programs through December:
• Lap Story Time for two year-olds at 10 a.m. on the second and fourth Monday of the month,
• Music in the Library every Saturday, from 2 to 4 p.m. through December 27,
• Free computer classes on Wednesdays at 6 p.m., and Saturdays at 11 a.m.,
• And, Saturday Stories every weekend at 10:15 a.m. throughout the year.
