If you are among the thousands of Ohioans who find themselves scrambling to find work in today’s difficult economy, help for a successful re-entry into the workforce can be found at Tipp City Public Library.
On Tuesday, May 26, the library will host Resume Writing at 1 p.m., and Internet Job Searching at 2:30 p.m. These programs are offered in conjunction with The Job Center Network-Miami County, and presented by Justin Sommer, Workforce Development Coordinator.
In resume writing, you will learn about:
• Targeting the resume to specific employers and positions
• Resume keywords
• Resume writing software
• Online resumes
• Format, style and length
• Showcasing experience positively
Participants should bring a copy of their current resume, or a completed outline of their resume in progress. Registration is required.
At Internet Job Searching, you will learn how to get your information out to potential employers who have moved away from the traditional paper application process to a digital media. Topics planned for this workshop include:
• Traditional searches
• Networking
• The Internet
• Job search communications
• Working a system
• Successful follow-up
