Tipp City Public Library is the one-stop place for your family’s summer time fun. In the upcoming week story times abound, kids learn about bugs, adults demystify perfume making, and manga loving teens get their Japanese culture fix.

OTAKU CLUB
Students in ninth grade and up, who can’t get enough of manga and anime, are invited to the next meeting of the library’s OTAKU CLUB, from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 21. The afternoon will include an anime screening, sampling of Japanese snacks, and selection of new anime and manga materials for the library. Registration is requested.

ADULTS MAKE SCENTS
Have you ever wondered, as you handed over your credit card at the perfume counter, if the tiny bottle, which you just spent a half-day’s salary on, is right for you. Here’s your chance to have an authority on perfume blending help you find your perfect scent. On Tuesday, June 24 at noon, Yvonne Lemming, owner of Studio DesParfum, will share her expert knowledge on scent blending, the history of perfume, and the perfume industry. As with all library brown bag programs, you bring your lunch and the library provides bottled water. Registration is requested.

KIDS GET BUGGED
The library will host a hands-on program about bugs for students in grades one through five at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25. County Parks Department Naturalist, Melissa “Rue River” Rhoades will lead this program, all about local insect life. Registration is required.

STORIES TO FIT
In addition to all of the reading club programs, the library maintains its regular story time schedule for toddlers and tots throughout the summer. See which one suits your schedule.
• Saturday Stories happen every Saturday at 10:15 a.m. No registration or age limits.
• Lap story time, for two year-olds, is scheduled twice monthly and the next one is set for Monday, June 23 at 10 a.m. Registration is requested.
• Little Ducklings, for one year-olds, is also offered two times per month and the next one is set for Wednesday, June 25 at 9:30 a.m. Registration is requested.

CLOTHING SWAP SET
According to the web site www.rehashclothes.com, Americans throw away 68 pounds of clothing per year. At 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, bring in clothing, accessories and/or books that you aren’t using, and swap it for something else. No registration necessary.

SATURDAYS START EARLY THIS SUMMER
Now through September 20, during the Tipp City Farmer’s Market season, the library will open one hour early on Saturdays, at 9 a.m. Beat the rush, and visit the library early and often.
