Meijer’s Generosity along with Community Services make Christmas Wishes
Kathy Taylor, director of Tipp Monroe Community Services received an unexpected call from Meijer’s last week letting her know that they were looking to donate 100 children’s bicycles to Community Services. They apparently had several skids of bikes whose boxes were ripped or damaged and would not be appropriate for retail sale.
Kathy of course accepted the generous donation from Meijer’s whose distribution center has been a Tipp City anchor business on the west side of town for years.
Help Needed
One trick to the bikes is that they all need to be assembled. Community Services is hoping that members of our community will bring screwdrivers and wrenches along with about an hour of their time this weekend to help assemble the 100 bikes that will be donated to the less fortunate children in our community.
We will be assembling the bikes at the Needy Basket this Saturday, Nov. 21, from 9:00 am- 12:00 pm (330 S. 5th St.)
If your child’s wish is a bicycle this year and you cannot financially make that happen for them, please call Kathy Taylor at Community Services (667-8631) for details on how the bikes will be distributed.
