Ohio Galaxies Boys Fall College Showcase at Athletes in Action!

OGFC Boys Fall 2013A

Xenia, Ohio. Ohio Galaxies Boys Fall College Showcase at Athletes in Action! The Showcase is designed to provide participants with the highest level of competition at a fraction of the cost of major tournaments. All of our matches will be played on state-of-the-art synthetic turf fields. Being a Showcase event, we organize our match locations to be not only convenient for the teams playing, but also for the college coaches to view the players. All u17 – u19 division matches will be played at one of the finest soccer facilities in the Midwest, Athletes in Action. With two full-sized NCAA synthetic turf soccer fields and an interchangeable, fully lit, football/soccer field, the sports complex provides the opportunity to comfortably host our Showcase regardless of weather conditions. The primary site for u16 division matches will be on the Wright State University campus at the Rinzler Student Sports Complex. This complex is located just minutes from Athletes in Action and features a fully lit NCAA soccer field and an interchangeable turf football/soccer field. All u14 & u15 division matches will be played at several local area high school facilities, each within a short drive of Athletes in Action. All of these facilities also feature synthetic turf fields.

There are 38 boys teams registered for the College Showcase event. They come from 6 surrounding states. Many college coaches from the local area will be able to see potential college candidates compete in this College Showcase Tournament. Last year there were over 30 coaches that participated in the Showcase representing over 25 colleges. The Galaxy Staff expect even better numbers this year. The Showcase tournament is designed to give a quality experience to college coaches so that they can have a good “look” at potential college candidates. Competition will be at the highest level offering an exciting experience for players, coaches and spectators alike.
All the spectators and players will benefit local area businesses, staying in local hotels and visiting area restaurants and shops. Nancy Shields, OGFC President, estimates the benefit to the Greater Dayton area to be over one million dollars.
Further information, registered teams and schedules can be viewed at www.OhioGalaxiesFC.com
The Girls Fall College Showcase is the following weekend of November 30th and December 1st.
