At the June 7, 2010 Tipp City Council meeting, Tipp City Rotary President-Elect Mark Mabelitini presented a check for $3,750.00 for the purchase of three new Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) to the City.  The AED’s will be placed in three Tipp City Police cars to replace older units. An AED is used in cases of life threatening cardiac arrhythmias which lead to cardiac arrest. Tipp City Police Officers can often be the first on the scene of a medical emergency and are trained in the use of AED’s.  Citing the 2010 Rotary International theme “Building Communities, Bridging Continents,” President-Elect Mabelitini said making the donation was Rotary’s way of helping to make the Tipp City community better. “We have an outstanding Police Department that is well trained and well-equipped and we are fortunate to have them.  The Tipp City Rotary is happy to make this contribution to help keep them well-equipped.”  The Tipp City Rotary meets every Wednesday at noon at the Monroe Township Building, located at Third and Main Streets.
