Museum of Troy History Christmas Season Activities

The Museum of Troy History, 124 E. Water St., will celebrate the Christmas season with a number of activities beginning Nov. 26, 2011. The Museum will be open from 1 to 5 pm on each of the days listed.

Nov. 26

Volunteers will assist visitors of all ages in making holiday decorations for the home and tree as they were made in Victorian times.

Nov. 27

Deb Fitzpatrick and Karen Purke will teach a class in ornament making from simple materials both traditional and contemporary.

Dec. 3

Sue Cantrell (Mrs. Claus) will show young ladies and anyone else interested how to make a special present for mother, grandmother, aunt or friend.

Dec. 4

Our volunteers will show visitors how to spice up the season with pomanders and potpourries.

Dec. 10

Stephen Larck will repeat last year’s class on the making of Victorian feather trees. This class requires pre-registration and a $25 materials fee. Please call 216-6925 to reserve your place.

Dec. 11

Our Christmas season concludes with our annual holiday open house. The childrens’ choir from the Troy Methodist Church will provide music and drama and Mr. Scrooge from Dicken’s Christmas Carol will make an appearance. Refreshments will be served.

All programs except for the feather tree class are free although donations to cover materials costs are appreciated.
