The Darke County Republican Women met on Monday, May 10 to hear State Senator Keith Faber give a comprehensive account of the current state of government in Columbus and a clear picture of economic issues in Ohio.

Senator Faber cited several sources, including the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics to report that 2,023 Darke County residents have lost their jobs since 2007;  128 Darke County businesses have disappeared since 2007; and Darke County has grown 6 percent LESS than the rest of the country since 2007.  On a statewide basis, about 13,000 more Ohioans have fell into poverty since 2007.  He also talked about the November election, citing the importance of the outcome; and urging serious, educated voting for state leaders in the general election.

State Senate candidate, Bill Beagle thanked the Women’s club for their support in the pre-Primary by offering a forum for candidates in April.  Mr. Beagle’s district includes half of Darke County, Miami County and part of Montgomery County.
