Senator Bill Beagle Receives Award

COLUMBUS– State Senator Bill Beagle (R–Tipp City) this morning was presented with the “Andrew Carnegie Award” from the Ohio Library Council (OLC). According to the OLC, the award is presented annually by the Board of Directors to a government official in recognition of their support for the ideals and challenges to public libraries.

“I am incredibly honored to be recognized by the Ohio Library Council through the Andrew Carnegie Award,” said Beagle. “The award recipients that have come before me have been such outstanding supporters of our public libraries and I’m humbled to be counted among them.”

William Moran, Vice President of Fifth Third Bank, presented Senator Beagle the award. Mr. Moran also serves on the Hamilton County Public Library Board of Trustees and on the Ohio Library Council Board of Trustees.

The award is named for Andrew Carnegie due to his outstanding contributions to the public library system. Former recipients of the prestigious award include former Governors, Ohio House Speakers, and Ohio Senate Presidents.
