Bruns Named WSU Athlete of the Month

Jason Bruns, a junior on the cross country team, has been named the Wright State Student-Athlete Advisory Council’s Athlete of the Month for the period of August 19-September 22, it was announced at their monthly meeting Sunday evening.

Bruns (Tipp City, OH/Tippecanoe) was WSU’s top finisher in all three races ran during the month.  His top performance came at the Friendship Invitational in Cedarville on September 17 as he won the 8K race with a time of 25:45.

Bruns finished eighth in each of the other two races, completing the 5K Flyer Challenge with a time of 15:58 and the 5K Queen City Invitational with a time of 15:40.

The cross country teams are back in action on Friday, September 30, at the All-Ohio Championships in Cedarville.
