While often considered a downtown fixture, Cairns Toys made steps yesterday to permanently affix their presence in the Tipp City downtown retail district.
“It’s an exciting day for our whole family” shared Melissa Cairns, owner of Cairns Toys. The blue and gold building at 31 E. Main Street, Tipp City has been their home for 12 1/2 years, and now that they own the building… Cairns Toys is definitely here to stay. Former owner Judy Snell handed over the property on July 13th to Cairns which includes the retail store below as well as a three bedroom loft apartment above.
Cairns daughter, Kristy Reis is in charge of the renovations to both buildings. “Some of the immediate renovations include a full roof replacement and new HVAC for the retail location and a new kitchen and bath along with a  fireplace and chimney restoration for the apartment located above Cairns Toys at 31 1/2 E. Main St”, shared Reis. Regarding downtown restoration, Reis hopes that the actions being taken by Cairns Toys is replicated elsewhere in the downtown.
This is definitely a huge week for Cairns as they are not only putting in place immediate renovation efforts but also having their big 20% off Storewide Sale. “We have three 20% off storewide sales each year, and our Summer Sale is always a popular one” shares Cairns. Featured products this year are Silly Bands, Japanese Erasers and the ever-popular Web-Kinz from Ganz. The sale runs from July 15th through July 17th.
