Black Bird by Greg Enslen

My friend and local Tipp City Author, Greg Enslen’s book Black Bird was interesting for sure!  In my review of his book The Ghost of Blackwood Lane, I mentioned enjoying reading it by the fire while camping.  Mr. Enslen wrote in his inscription to me in Black Bird that I should read this book with the lights on and I did.  However, I do have to say it wasn’t as scary as I was thinking it would be.  I think the word to describe book and its main character, Jack Terrington, is twisted!

Greg, again, does some serious research for this book.  The main character, Jack Terrington has been on a killing spree covering multiple states for twenty years.  However, his haunting memory of killing the sheriff of Liberty, Virginia will not leave him alone.   He wants to destroy the town of Liberty as well as the sheriff’s son, David.

At about the time he decides to return to Liberty, the FBI is utilizing a new computer to search similarities in unsolved murder cases.  Although the agent who pieces together the crimes committed by Jack is a women (and I was hoping to formulate a picture of Shemar Moore from Criminal Minds), it was still exciting the story to read and learn how the terror imposed by Jack Terrington was ended.

I encourage all of you to read Greg’s books.  He will offer a 10% discount to anyone who mentions this review:  Keyword “Bird” through 12/31/11.  You can find out more about Greg and his books at:  www.gregenslen.com
