Tipp City, Ohio (July 18, 2011) – The Tipp City Area Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Tipp City Partnership (DTCP) welcome an intern to their staff for the summer. Shannon O’Shields will engage in several projects supporting the DTCP Membership and Volunteer Coordinator, Liz Sonnanstine, with special events and communication duties. Shannon will also work closely with the Chamber President and CEO, Matt Owen, in executing various summer projects.

“We are very excited to have Shannon on board this summer,” Owen said, “it is important we engage with students and young people whenever possible so they feel connected and vested in our community.”

Originally from Troy, Ohio, Shannon is a Senior at Wright State University, majoring in Mass Communication with a focus in Public Relations. Upon graduating in November, she plans to continue her education, working toward a Master’s degree in Public Administration. This opportunity will fulfill a 100 hour internship requirement to graduate from WSU.

Shannon brings enthusiasm and experience from other non-profit organizations and volunteer activities, including Fiver Rivers Metro Parks and Energize Clinton County.
