Tipp City, Ohio, October 27, 2009 — (PR.COM) — In anticipation of the October 30, 2009 release of the movie The Boondock Saints 2 – All Saints Day, the hosts of the Get Social! Radio Show recently interviewed stars Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flanery during a special episode of their weekly internet radio broadcast.

Get Social Radio hosts Mike McDermott and Greg Enslen were joined by the show’s roving reporter Joyell Nevins in their studio located in the Big Robot Game Cafe in downtown Tipp City, Ohio. Both Reedus and Flanery called into the show that day from the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles, CA.

During the live internet radio broadcast, Get Social! Radio fans were asking questions in the chat room to both special guests.

Sean Patrick Flanery (Connor McManus)

Sean Patrick Flanery shared with Get Social! listeners that “The ‘Rope’ does make a very significant cameo.. as well as the Cat” referring to two significant events in the prequel, The Boondock Saints released back in 1999.

Speaking about how his fans see and react to him, Flanery said “We are very accessible, we are “everyday dudes” in real life, as well as on screen” “We are not in the roped off VIP section, we are normal guys”

Enslen asked a question that originated in the show’s live chat room on whether the film will be distributed nationwide, Flanery responded “Yes, if the fans demand it… the platform release (of Boondock Saints 2 All Saints Day) to 60 theaters will go wider and hopefully 500-600 theaters nationwide”

Later during the broadcast, Norman Reedus also joined the Get Social studio by phone and definitely brought both his humor and some information about what to expect in Boondock Saints 2 – All Saints Day.

Norman Reedus (Murphy McManus)

Speaking of the premieres, Reedus shared “Boston was a standing ovation, and screaming kids, and at the premiere in New York the NYPD had to turn away 1,500 fans in line for the movie” “The New York fans were just going nuts about it!”

Nevins asked whether Reedus always felt there would be a sequel to Boondock Saints. Reedus replied “Absolutely, I was getting stopped 10 times a day by fans, some of them with Boondock sweatshirts and some with our faces tattooed on them” “It’s great being a part of a cult classic”

McDermott shared with the Get Social! Radio audience that social media has been heavily used by the production company to promote this sequel. Reedus replied, “The fans made this movie happen, I could give them all a hug”

On Clifton Collins Jr.’s character in the Saints, Reedus replied ” He becomes one of the Saints, he works with us and rolls with us… he has a really pivotal and cool part in the film”

After Show

After the interviews with Flanery and Reedus concluded, the Get Social! hosts invited the fans of the show to call in and share what they liked about the interviews with Flanery and Reedus. The hosts were treated with comments from one caller who attended the premiere in Philadelphia, PA. She was able to provide some guidance as to what to expect from the film. “The local radio show gave away tickets for the premiere, and Facebook fans were also able to get tickets” stated one guest.

The show’s hosts were curious as to how this listener in Pennsylvania learned about this special Boondock Saints interview. She stated that it was advertised on Sean Patrick Flanery’s website in their fan forum and that she also saw the links to our show in Twitter”.

As well as being the host of The Get Social! Radio Show, Mike McDermott is Lead Marketing Strategist for Bash Foo Social Media, a company whose focus is in driving relevant visitors to online content. “I was impressed by the heavy use of social media marketing to advertise this film” shared McDermott. “Communications made using social media tools allowed the film company to micro-target their demographic and their audience, a truly cost effective marketing strategy”

About The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day

The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day is the much-anticipated sequel to the indie cult classic, The Boondock Saints. The film is the continuation of writer/director Troy Duffy’s tough, stylized cutting edge saga of the MacManus brothers (Norman Reedus, Sean Patrick Flanery). The two have been in deep hiding with their father, Il Duce (Billy Connolly), in the quiet valleys of Ireland, far removed from their former vigilante lives. When word comes that a beloved priest has been killed by sinister forces from deep within the mob, the brothers return to Boston to mount a violent and bloody crusade to bring justice to those responsible.  With a new partner in crime (Clifton Collins Jr., Star Trek) and a sexy FBI operative (Julie Benz, TV’s “Dexter”) hot on their trail…the Saints are back!

The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day is written and directed by Troy Duffy, starring Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus, Billy Connolly, Clifton Collins Jr., and Julie Benz. Produced by Chris Brinker and Don Carmody, and executive produced by Lloyd Segan and Rob Fried.

The Boondock Saints: All Saints Day will open in theaters on Friday, October 30.
