KIT-TV Channel 5 Looking for Media Volunteers

User Generated Content or UGC for short is what KIT-TV is all about. In an agreement with Time Warner Cable and the City of Tipp City, the KIT-TV studio is able to broadcast community news, events and UGC recorded content on Time Warner Cable’s Channel 5. In addition to the standard faire of municipal board meetings, KIT-TV also broadcasts talk shows like Get Social Radio, cooking specials, football and soccer games, mum festival events, the annual Optimist Auction and school video productions throughout the year.

Media Volunteers Wanted

KIT-TV is sporting new cameras, audio gear and a green screen and all they need is YOU! KIT-TV is actively recruiting Tipp City residents who would like to be trained to use their cameras and then train them on events and people that they find fascinating. That is what UGC is all about. Finding a great person, topic or event and recording it for others to see. Local television is only as awesome as those that provide that content. Your chance to join the growing list of volunteers at KIT-TV has come. About Being a KIT-TV Volunteer

Media Specialist (Volunteer)

The volunteer will record videos of events within Tipp City/Monroe Township and topics of interest to the local community. Opportunities and times will vary during seasons within the year.

Work Location

Site locations may also vary depending on what is being filmed. Site location could be in our KIT-TV Studio, in a person’s home, on the street or in an organization’s building. The Volunteer will need to provide transportation to and from the filming site.

Purpose of the Position

Since KIT-TV is a PUBLIC CABLE ACCESS non-profit organization, it is necessary to get news and information out to the public with as little cost as possible. We are in the process of building our viewing audience by providing them with more current information in a timely manner.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Volunteer’s responsibility and duties will be to film various events and documentaries within the community. The Volunteer may film unassigned things of interest to the public to be aired on KIT-TV. The Volunteer will be in charge of editing of these events.

Training

NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AS WE WILL TRAIN EACH INDIVIDUAL The Volunteer will receive training and any specific training for a unique assignment. We will also provide training on how to use our editing software on the MAC and Windows PC. We currently have Final Cut Pro by Adobe and Adobe Premier 8 for this purpose.
