Local Volunteers Donate Over $30,000 to Area Food Pantries

TIPP CITY, Ohio – In less than 10 months time, ClipShopShare has donated over $30,000 worth of groceries, toiletries, paper goods, school supplies and more to local food pantries, shelters and church ministries. When ClipShopShare founders came together with a vision in March 2010, they thought hitting $10,000 would take at least a year.  Amazing what happens when individuals work as a team for the greater good!

In the last 10 months, ClipShopShare has taught over 30 couponing classes in 4 counties with over 500 people in attendance, donated over 20,000 items to 25 pantries or ministries, are followed by over 1000 fans on Facebook, 1000 subscribers to the RSS email feeds, and have over 3000 people a month visiting our site www.ClipShopShare.com to get savings information and to print coupons too!

If just 5000 people were able to save just $50 last year by visiting ClipShopShare, then we saved $250,000 collectively.  WOW!!!  Not bad for a crazy little idea hatched in a corn field outside Tipp City, Ohio!

What does 2011 look like?  Things to look for from ClipShopShare:

  • Expanded class schedules:  We are looking at taking the class on the road to train and educate over 10,000 new people in 2011 – a class that you can attend for FREE to start couponing or increase your savings.   You know how we like FREE stuff!
  • Increased giving opportunities for stock pile you have amassed.
  • Videos posted online of basic saving techniques
  • Our connection to The Penny Experiment
  • Over $100,000 in donated items to area Pantries
  • ClipShopShare couponing book – coming to Amazon by summer

Now who is this ClipShopShare and how do they do it you ask?

ClipShopShare is a volunteer group of local professionals that donate their time to use coupons and sales to stock local food pantries, shelters, etc.  With the use of weekly drug store and grocery store sales and the pairing of these with coupons ClipShopShare has now donated over $30,000 worth of items for less than $400 out-of-pocket. ClipShopShare’s Leadership Team includes Kim & John Wilder of Brookville, Carli Amlin Dean of Tipp City, Chris Long of Troy and Kim Brumbaugh of Pleasant Hill.

In addition to the support provided to those less fortunate, ClipShopShare also offers once-a-month FREE Coupon Coaching.  They teach how to use coupons to reduce your weekly grocery budget while also learning how to conservatively create a stockpile.  Currently the class is the 1st Wednesday of the month at Ginghamsburg Church at 6:30pm.  Please check the website www.ClipShopShare.com for location of class and directions.

ClipShopShare also offers a website at www.ClipShopShare.com and has a Facebook Clip, Shop, Share page for those to follow.  Daily deals are posted about items for FREE, coupons to print, ways to reduce your budget, sales at local grocery and drug stores, and of course…the successful shopping and donations made for the week on behalf of ClipShopShare.

Want to help ClipShopShare and the food pantry but don’t have time to coupon yourself?  Just donate your coupon booklets to ClipShopShare. They have boxes set up in TIPP CITY at Ginghamsburg Church, New Path Food Pantry, Schroeder Tennis Center, Amlin Advantage of RE/MAX Professionals, and Tipp Monroe Community Services.  In Huber at Fox’s Pizza, in Troy at RE/MAX Professionals and in Dayton at Wright State University’s University Center for International Education.  You may also mail inserts to 890 Ginghamsburg Road, Tipp City, Ohio 45371 in care of ClipShopShare.

“Couponing just seems like such an obvious answer to helping people,” says Carli, so, if you want to help people and learn how to save money yourself, get involved in ClipShopShare.  We are always looking to expand the shopping team!
