M-U Public Library Programs: Week of Sept 22 – 27, 2014

The Milton-Union Public Library is offering another busy week of programs and activities:

Monday, September 22, 2014 – The Crafty Listeners meet from 1:00-2:30 pm to listen to an audiobook while working on individual and group projects, as well as helping others with tips and advice from experienced crafters.  Come and join the fun!

Buddy Reading starts this school year with a visit from Belle, the beagle who loves to hear kids read! Teen and adult volunteers will also be present to listen and encourage children in practicing their reading skills. The program starts at 6:30 pm and runs until the library closes at 8:00 pm.

Tuesday, September 23, 2014 – Tiny Tots is a library program aimed at children from birth to 3 years and their caregivers.  Mrs. Heisey engages the children with stories, songs, games, play, and silliness designed to serve the developmental needs of children this age.

A Mary Poppins Party will be held at the Milton-Union Public Library from 6:30-8:00 pm Tuesday evening.  Games, stories, crafts, and refreshments (including something with at least “A spoonful of sugar”) will be on the evening’s agenda.

Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014 – Story Hours are held from 10:30-11:30 am and 1:30-2:30 pm Wednesday at the Milton-Union Public Library.  Puppet shows, books, crafts, games and songs are enjoyed during this program for preschoolers and their caregivers.  Come join the fun!

Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014 – Jeff Steele offers more assistance to job seekers at his employment program held from noon to 2:00 pm at the library.  Jeff and the Goodwill/Easter Seals Job Assistance program are eager to help.  All are welcome, but registration is needed so sufficient handouts and take-home resources are available to all participants.  Call the library at 937-698-5515 to register.

Amie Tennant presents a genealogy program from 6:00-8:00 pm at the library. An expert in genealogy and family history research, Amie will teach program attendees how to enrich their research through the use of photographs, stories,  news clippings, and other resources.

Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 – The afternoon matinee starts at 2:30 pm, showing Hook, starring Robin Williams as Peter Pan and Dustin Hoffman as Captain Hook.  Popcorn and drinks are provided, but feel free to bring a comfy cushion or folding chair.  Come willing to believe and enjoy the fun!
