It’s been a while since I’ve posted a review but my recent read of a local Tipp City resident’s first book prompted me for sure! I first met this new author while enjoying our mutual love of yoga at the YMCA. Then, later learned of our common struggle of living with Autism in our families. Later, when I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, this lovely lady sent me a nice card and gift certificate so that my husband and I could go out to a local business for dinner! It is truly a pleasure to know her so needless to say getting to read her first published book has been a pleasure.
Marriage Made in Haven is a wonderful quick read perfect for your summer pool or beach read. It is a lovely story of a girl, Maycie Quitman, who returns to her small hometown to stop a wedding. She ran away thinking that she didn’t belong there and hopes of making it on her own. With her love of creativity, she makes jewelry and owns a booth at an art gallery. However, the nagging feeling that she had not corrected a mistake made one night in Las Vegas was always there. Should she return to her small hometown of Haven?
The Jordon family owns the Double J Ranch and the two Jordon boys were always a part of Maycie’s life. The story of the family and how Josh Jordon was saved in an accident linked the Jordon and Quitman families forever. Maycie learns that Jordon was to be married to a famous model from Los Angeles and that the wedding would be taking place in Haven.
Maycie immediately packs up and heads home for the first time in years and is bothered by the question of whether she should come clean that the one night in Vegas had resulted in a wedding? She was vaguely aware of the details and struggled as her father, local minister who was preparing to marry the person who she thought she was married to…or was she?
This lovely story of small town life, living on a ranch, leaving your hometown to try to make it on your own and childhood mistakes that is a quick read that you will love.
