Step into spring by joining some of your friends and neighbors for activities at the Milton-Union Public Library during April.

Story Times Continue this Month

Mrs. Callicoat and Mrs. Hines have story times scheduled for April as follows:

Wednesday, April 6 @ 10:30 —”April Showers”

Wednesday, April 13 @ 10:30 —”Birds”

Wednesday, April 20 @ 10:30 —”Bunnies”

Wednesday, April 27 @ 10:30—”Gardening”

Story times are a great alternative activity for parents, grandparents or babysitters and children to do together. Children will be treated to stories, puppet plays and crafts specifically designed for the 3 to 5-year old age group. Advance registration is NOT needed for these free events.

Ballroom Dancing With Bill” – Tuesdays, April 5, 12 & 26 and Thursday, April 21

Join Bill Coate, certified dance instructor, for 4 sessions of Ballroom Dancing Classes from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the following Tuesdays, April 5, 12 & 26 and Thursday, April 21 in the multi-purpose room at the library. Bill intends to cover Rhythm/Latin/Smooth which

include such dances as the waltz, rumba, cha-cha, swing, foxtrot and salsa/mambo and tango. He will tailor the classes to the number and preferences of the attendees.

Registration is REQUIRED.

The classes are for adults and teens, although teens under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who can be either the chaperone or a dance partner. Participants may bring a partner, however, there will be rotation of partners during the classes.

Dancers are asked to dress comfortably and appropriately for activity and bring a water bottle. Again, the instructor will customize the classes to participants’ ability levels. Also, come prepared to have a good time. This is an excellent opportunity to learn or sharpen your dance skills in time for early summer weddings and prom!

National Library Week: April 10—16 Library Scavenger Hunt

Families are invited to the library this week for a chance to win a prize! Participants can do an “at-your-own-pace” scavenger hunt designed to familiarize yourself and family members with what the library has to offer. A prize basket of donated items will go to the winner drawn on Saturday, April 16 from all the correct scavenger contest/entry forms.

AARP Tax Preparation Help: Tuesdays April 5 & 12 from 10 am – 2 pm

AARP volunteers will once again assist low and middle income taxpayers with preparing their income tax forms on Tuesday, April 5 and Tuesday, April 12 from 10 am to 2 pm.

This free service is specially geared toward taxpayers who are 60 years of age or older. Volunteers are scheduled on a first come-first serve basis and the library doors are NOT opened until 10 am.

Federal and state tax forms, books and selected schedules will be available at the library. Staff can also help patrons retrieve reproducible forms from the internet for 10¢ per page. City tax forms are available at the West Milton Municipal Offices or at www.hamilton-city.org/tax/.

The Milton-Union Public Library is located at 560 S.
