Mom2Mom Sale Kicks off August 3, 2013

Ginghamsburg Mom2Mom’s bi-annual kids’ consignment sale called The KID’S AVENUE @ Ginghamsburg is coming up August 3, 2013 from 8am-1pm at The Avenue at Ginghamsburg Church. The KIDS’ AVENUE @ Ginghamsburg sale features name brand kids clothing for Fall/Winter, including Halloween costumes and winter gear such a coats, hats mittens, boots; kids toys, games, books, movies; nursery items including changing tables, bouncie’s, play yards, pack-n-plays, and even maternity items for the expectant moms. The goal is to have one stop shopping for anything you might need to raise a child.

Each sale Ginghamsburg’s Mom2Mom chooses a charity or person to highlight. Mom2Mom accepts donations at the door for this charity. For the August sale we have chosen an amazing mom, Lisa Maxson, who was  diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Her story is below…

Lisa Kendall Maxson is a young mother to 3 beautiful children and wife to Tom and daughter to Tom and Bev Kendall.  On August 1, 2011 Lisa was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She started treatment at the James Cancer Center in Columbus, after chemo, radiation Lisa was able to have a Double CordStem Cell Transplant on December 15^th, 2011. The road to recovery has been a rough one for Lisa, she has been in and out of the hospital since her transplant with health issues all from the effects of Chemo and Radiation. Lisa still finds time to help in her community, cheer on her children at their various activities and be with her family. Lisa does not want to just focus on cancer but raise awareness on how we can help others by being a donor.  Be the Match is an on-line registry that helps match donors to cancer patients.
