Chester Lewis
(August 22, 1917 – October 17, 2011)
Lewis, Chester W. age 94 formerly of Barboursville, WV passed away Monday October 17, 2011 at Heartland of Piqua, OH. Born August 22, 1917 in Platform, Ohio to William and Minnie {Kearns} Lewis. Preceded in death by his parents and step-son Richard L. Baumgardner, sisters; Jessie Galloway and Helen Honaker, brothers; Otha, William, Don, John and Alvin Lewis. Chester is survived by his loving wife of 63 years; Edith K. {Wintz} Lewis, 1 granddaughter; Kimberly and her husband Jim Wharton of Tipp City, OH and 4 great grandchildren. Chester proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Army Air Corp, and retired from BASF where he worked as a security guard. Chester was a member of the Elwood Baptist Church in Martha WV. He enjoyed singing hymns, playing music and most of all spending time with his family and family reunions. A graveside service will be held on Thursday October 20, 2011 at 1:00 PM at White Chapel Memorial Garden in Barboursville, WV.
