Larry Flora
(March 16, 1945 – July 30, 2012)
Flora, Larry E. 67 of Laura Ohio passed away Monday, July 30, 2012 at Troy Care and Rehab Center. Born March 16, 1945 in Miami County to Earl and Ruby {Beard} Flora. He is preceded in death by his parents and his mother in-law, Violet Gardner. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jane H. {Gardner} Flora, daughter, Sarah J. Flora and her partner, Jeremy Dickman and grandson, Jacob Dickman. Also surviving are his brother, Earl and his wife Sandra Flora, their daughter Kerri (Bud) Miller sister, Connie and her husband Mike Holbrook, their sons, Brad (Carrie) Holbrook and Chris (Mary) Holbrook, brother in-law, Ian and his wife Allison Gardner and their children, Emma and Andrew. Larry was a 1963 graduate of Troy High School, a 4 year Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany and England from 1963 to 1967 then the reserves until 1969. He retired from GM in 2001 with over 25 years of service. He was a skilled trade Model Builder and in 2001 he won the Boss Kettering Award, and he worked on many prototypes for GM. Larry loved his family, cameras, stamps and collectibles as well as his Scottie, Fergus and all the Scotties before. There will be a celebration of his life from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, August 15 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. Donations may be made in memory of Larry to a charity of your choice.
