Join Miami County Liberty and Americans for Prosperity as they host an Ohio Energy Summit on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Club 55 in Troy. The event, which will open for registration at 6 pm, will feature Ohio Treasurer and U.S. Senate Candidate Josh Mandel as the opening speaker, followed by many other speakers from Ohio energy companies.

Josh Mandel will meet and greet attendees at 6:30 pm and then discuss his efforts to make America an independent energy producer once again. Mandel is running for the U.S. Senate from Ohio and will join Senator Rob Portman in Washington, D.C. when elected.

Following Candidate Mandel’s remarks, Miami County Liberty will host a number of different speakers from Americans for Prosperity, the Ohio Coal Association, and the Ohio Petroleum Institute. Seth Morgan, the Ohio policy director, and Katie Eagan, the Ohio State Director for Americans for Prosperity, will host the town hall meeting.

Doug Matheney, Director of Outreach for the Ohio Coal Association and former Jackson County Commissioner, has experience as a coal miner in eastern Ohio. He will address the crowd and answer questions regarding coal mining and the benefits for Ohio.

Christina Polesovsky, the Associate Director of the Ohio Petroleum Institute, will speak on oil and gas production in Ohio and the country. She will also answer questions about the pursuit of American energy independence and how the petroleum institute can lead the way.

A special guest speaker and expert in fracking in Ohio will address the crowd, explain the geology behind fracking, and answer questions regarding those operations.

It is time to end government funded green energy scams, excessive EPA regulations and the shutting down of traditional, affordable forms of energy – including the Keystone Pipeline. These federal government actions are standing in the way of what is best for Americans and causing severe repercussions in the Buckeye State. The EPA is working overtime to destroy the coal industry, especially in Ohio, and the jobs that support and surround this industry. The regulations recently issued from mining, burning, and exporting coal, are causing the industry to shut down. The Utility MACT regulation is one of the most expensive regulations ever issued in the United States, costs as much as $10 billion per year, and is falling heavily on coal burning power plants. The EPA has designated that new facilities will need to switch to natural gas to even obtain a permit. The targeting of coal power will drive up energy costs, increase the price of goods made using coal power, and thus lead to fewer jobs and more economic troubles in Ohio.

Join us to learn what YOU can do to reverse this trend and make Ohio a major producer of energy once again.

Free and open to the public, this town hall will be an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in learning how America can become energy independent. See you Tuesday night, July 10th at Club 55 in Troy!
