Ohio Galaxies Girls Fall College Showcase

After Successful Boys Fall Showcase, organizers are hoping for the same weather for the Girls Showcase this weekend in the Greater Dayton Area

Xenia, Ohio. Ohio Galaxies Girls Fall College Showcase at Athletes in Action! The Girls Showcase traditionally follows the Boys Showcase and can be set up for bad weather. Luckily the Girls Tournament is played on some of the finest sports turf facilities in Ohio and possibly the Midwest. The anchor site for the Showcase events is Athletes in Action in Xenia, Ohio. With two full-sized NCAA synthetic turf soccer fields and an interchangeable, fully lit, football/soccer field, the sports complex provides the opportunity to comfortably host our Girls Showcase regardless of weather conditions. The primary site for u16 girls division matches will be on the Wright State University campus at the Rinzler Student Sports Complex. This complex is located just minutes from Athletes in Action and features a fully lit NCAA soccer field and an interchangeable turf football/soccer field. All u14 & u15 division matches will be played at several local area high school facilities, each within a short drive of Athletes in Action.

The Girls Showcase will be played by 40 teams from 6 states (OH, IN, TN, PA, IL and KY). There is also one team from Toronto, Ontario, Canada playing in the U17 division. College coaches will flock to the Showcase to check on soccer recruits and find new players for their Colleges. This weekend, there will be 50 coaches representing 40 Universities from states as far away as New York and Alabama. Competition will be at the highest level offering an exciting experience for players, coaches and spectators alike.

The Girls Weekend will rest on the shoulders of the Boys Fall College Showcase in which the soccer club was able to win a few divisions. “The Ohio Galaxies FC Boys Fall Showcase was a successful event for our organization. We settled into great weather for November with temperatures in the 50s and 60s and our Ohio Galaxies U18 Premier Black and U15 Elite teams both won their respective divisions with convincing wins over Ohio South State League opponents” said Nancy Shields, OGFC President, after a very busy weekend for event organizers.

For further information about the upcoming Girls Soccer Showcase and the Boys results can be found at www.OhioGalaxiesFC.com. Maps and schedules are also available on the site.
