Operation Welcome Home Comes to Dayton Region


According to Tipp City native, Lt. Col. Mike Jackson (ret.) this year’s Operation Welcome Home celebration will be held on Veterans Day Weekend Nov. 10-13, 2011, at the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, Ohio.
“We are so excited to bring an event of this size to the Miami Valley, it means a lot for the region as well as to the local sponsors”.

The organization’s Facebook page reports that activities will include a powerful “Welcome Home” ceremony, a travelling Vietnam Wall, a motorcycle ride and barbecue, a gala sponsor dinner, a veteran photography show, a student essay contest, a USO Show and AF Band of Flight performance, a veteran Job Fair, activities throughout the region, sponsored by various communities and organizations.

Lt. Col. Jackson shared that the event is presented by The American Veterans Institute of  Tipp City , and the American Automobile Association (AAA) of the Miami Valley. All activities are planned to be free to veterans and their families. Food and lodging will be discounted throughout the region.
