*On October 6th Hunter Heck, a Miami University Student, was struck by a patrol car as he was attempting to cross West Spring St. in Oxford. Hunter was taken to McCollough Hyde Memorial Hospital but due to the serious nature of his injuries he was careflighted to Miami Valley Hospital. His condition is still very serious and the family is asking for your thoughts and prayers. The following is a statement from the Heck Family.

Hunter’s condition is still very critical.  He has sustained an enormous amount of traumatic injuries.  We are confident that he is getting and will continue to get the best possible care here at the Miami Valley hospital, through every step in his fight to recover.  We have been informed, and are seeing, that this is an unpredictable and painfully slow process.  We can only take it one step at a time, but we are prepared to do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes!

We cannot begin to adequately express our gratitude to family, friends, and supporters, and the massive numbers of powerful prayers.  We wish we could personally express our appreciation for every detailed act of kindness and prayer, but there is not enough time and we must focus on Hunter.  Please know that this is a long road and we ask for continued sustained prayers to keep Hunter and our family moving forward.  We could not get through this without this amazing support.

We cannot thank the doctors , nurses, therapists, specialist, etc…at Miami Valley Trauma Center enough.  They have all been compassionate, understanding, respectful and knowledgeable.

Our faith community has been incredibly supportive and it is with our magnificent God that we maintain our hope.

 Trust Setup

Chase bank has put together a trust for Hunter and anyone wishing to contribute to this trust please contact any Chase Bank location.

Again we thank this wonderful community for continued prayers and we faithfully believe Phil 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Hunter’s favorite Bible verse.

Sincerely,  The Heck Family
