The Miami Valley Shooting Grounds, located at 7771 Johnson Station Road in Vandalia, is now opening all its ranges to Purple Heart recipients to shoot free all day Dana Tackett, owner and president, said, “It’s the least we can do for our wounded warriors who have given so much. All they have to do is sign in at the front desk, show their form DD214 as proof of their medal and all of our ranges will be open to them on Wednesdays. I encourage other businesses to join us in this effort. If they are interested they can give me a call to discuss further.”
Miami Valley Shooting Grounds is open to the public and is the only public indoorand outdoor shooting facility within a 50-mile radius of Dayton. Their outdoor ranges are distanced at 10 meters, 25, 50 and 100 yards with backstops handling all rifle and handgun calibers below .41 magnum performance level.
