Reconstruction

Happy New Year! It is time for New Year’s resolutions. It is a time to look at cleaning up, renovating, and reconstructing your personal temple. The temple, church, or whatever you would like to call it, is one’s personal beliefs and thoughts about how they live their life. In this time of resolutions we need to look at our lives and evaluate what is working and what is not. Fill this personal space with what you love and the things that make you happy.

The other part of this reconstruction of ones personal space is how we present it to others and who we involve in our lives. I went to church this past weekend, and though my beliefs lie upon a different path, it made sense to me when the pastor spoke of acceptance in his sermon. In evaluating ones personal space, it is worth looking at who we let in our lives and who we surround ourselves with on a regular basis. For the most part those we let in and surround ourselves with have similar personal spaces. However since we are all different there will be times that we have to learn acceptance. There will also be times that we will encounter individuals who are completely different than we are. This type of acceptance is even harder to accomplish. This should be our goal in 2011: to reconstruct our personal space to reflect our acceptance of ourselves and to accept the differences of others. Have a good new year!
