It took two plays: A flea flicker for 52 yards and a 13 yard run by Austin Clack, and in 23 seconds Tipp City led the M-U Bulldogs 7-0… It never got any better. The Red Devils scored on six consecutive possessions in the first half while holding Milton scoreless, and Tipp ran away with a 57-14 win over their highway 571 rivals.
Tipp City amassed 368 total yards in the first half alone compared to 55 for the Bulldogs. The three headed rushing monster of Austin Clack (2 touchdowns), Jacob Crowel (2 touchdowns), and Cameron Gibbs (2 touchdowns) bullied and battered the Bulldogs for the entire first half building up a 43-0 lead.
Under new OHSAA “mercy” rules, a running clock is in place while a team is behind by thirty points. For some reason, Tipp felt it necessary to leave its first team offense in to start the second half and quickly Clack added his third touchdown making it 50-0.
The Devils then added a second team touchdown later in the third quarter after which the Bulldogs finally added two fourth quarter touchdowns: one by Senior Brad Stine and the other by Senior Chase Martens.
Tipp City now stands 3-0 while M-U falls to 0-3. The Bulldogs travel to Northridge next Friday night. Game time is 7:00.
