Tipp City, Ohio. Sarah Harmer signed her National Letter of Intent, Wednesday February 12th at Tippecanoe High School.
Sarah will be joining the Women’s Soccer Program at Bowling Green State University for the 2014/2015 season. Sarah is enrolled in Pre-Vet Medicine at BGSU and looks forward to an exciting athletic and academic challenge in the upcoming years.
When asked what she is most looking forward to, Harmer stated “I have met many of the current and incoming players and I am looking forward to joining them to help improve the program”. Entering into her second year, this will be the first year Coach Lindsay Basalyga will be coaching her new recruits. BGSU had a tough season last year and the coach is excited about better things to come with the new recruits.
Harmer was also excited about being only 20 minutes away from her brother Connor, who plays and studies at the University of Findlay.
Sarah plays for the Ohio Galaxies FC in Xenia/Dayton, coming from the Celtics program in Beavercreek and starting in the Tippecanoe FC soccer program here in Tipp City. Sarah stated “I wanted to thank my past coaches that helped me get to where I am” including current coach Pat Ferguson, Jeff Popp and Mike Howard from the Celtics and Patty Gross of Tippecanoe FC. Harmer also wanted to thank Brandon Baker and Heather Westrick, who coached her through High School.
Sarah signed with Sarah Colvin, who will be attending Wright State University and Chelsea Clawsen who will be attending Concord University in West Virginia. The signing festivities were hosted by Matt Shomper, and the trio was joined by coaches, family, students and friends.
