Each sale Ginghamsburg’s Mom2Mom chooses a charity or person to highlight. Mom2Mom accepts donations at the door for this charity. For the August sale we have chosen an amazing woman who is a part of Mom2Mom at Ginghamsburg- Jennie Woodall. In the spring of 2006, Jennie was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Her story is below…

Jennie’s Story

In May of 2006, I woke up feeling dizzy and weak…after numerous tests, and scans (including a quite painful spinal tap) the doctors made the discovery that I had Multiple Sclerosis. I was terrified! My first thoughts were, “Will I ever walk again? and Can I have children?”. Well… after multiple stints in rehab, I am happy to say that I can walk, and sometimes jog! I also had the joy of delivering my little boy naturally in August 2010 (and my husband was able to help the midwife too, because I was healthy)!!

Most days I am able to make MS a very small part of my life, but only with the help of my Lord and Savior! He gives me strength physically, and also mentally when the anxiety creeps in!

I do have a difficult time handling the heat, so thankfully the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (http://www.msassociation.org/programs/cooling/), gave me a cooling vest! I qualified for a scholarship, so I did not have to pay a dime! The vest has given me my summers back, and I get to be a fun mommy for my little boy!! I am able to be out in the heat for long periods of time because the vest is full of ice packs that keep my core temperature down!

I plan on sponsoring/blessing someone now, who has MS, but can’t afford the vest, with the money I get from the Mom2Mom’ KIDS’ AVENUE @ Ginghamsburg Sale!
I am very thankful and honored that Mom2Mom has chosen me to sponsor.. I am excited to have the opportunity to bless someone who has the same struggles that I do!!

If you, or someone you love has been diagnosed with MS…it can be very scary at first! I am here to help!! Contact me at JWoodall77@yahoo.com. This disease may knock me down, but I can keep getting back up with God!! Philippians 4:13!!!

Please help us help Jennie reach her goal at The KIDS’ AVENUE @ Ginghamsburg Sale, August 4th 8am-1pm. Thank you from Ginghamsburg’s Mom2Mom & The KIDS’ AVENUE @ Ginghamsburg Sale coordinators and participants
