The program for the January 22, 2014 Tipp City Rotary Club meeting was about Tippecanoe Schools safety. Dr. John Kronour and Detective Sergeant Chris Graham discussed our Schools safety and answered questions from the Rotarians. Dr. Kronour stressed the Schools desire to maintain the schools open culture while keeping the kids safe. The Schools update their Safety Plan annually, have regular safety meeting with the Tipp City Police Department, perform drills, train, use threat assessment teams, and have installed computer based distress buttons. There is a strong positive relationship between the Schools and the Tipp City Police Department, including having DARE Officer Rittenhouse on school property each day and the Schools hiring off duty officers to also be in the schools.
