During two recent meetings, David Mihalyo shared with TippNews DAILY that he is looking forward to becoming an active leader in Miami County Government by being elected as the Democratic Candidate to the Miami County Treasurer’s position. Mr. Mihalyo feels that his management experience is a perfect fit for managing the various funds associated with the Treasurer’s Office. In addition, Mihalyo states that his analytical background enables him to make decisions in a logical, well planned manner.
Not afraid of technology, David shared a desire make the Treasurer’s Office more accessible to customers by revitalizing the existing Miami County web site to allow residents to pay their taxes online and streamline various day to day work processes.
For the past ten years, David has been a Stay At Home Dad, managing the family household while helping to raise his two children. Previously, David worked as an account manager for an environmental firm in Columbus servicing over 400 customers. He also worked as a bid coordinator for a large, industrial supply company. His background includes both managerial and technical experience.
Community Service
David was recently appointed to serve on the Tipp Monroe Community Services Board of Trustees. He has also served on the Tipp City Park Advisory Board for three years, serving as Chairperson most recently. For the past five years, he has been a standing member of The Friends of the Tipp City Library. He also volunteers time for various school and community functions.
David is a 1987 graduate of West Liberty State College with a Bachelors degree in Chemistry and a Minor in Biology. While there, he served as President of Student Government as well as Student Government Vice President of Administration. He also has done graduate work toward a Masters in Environmental Management at the University of Findlay.
Mr. Mihalyo has been a resident of Tipp City for the past nine years and lives there with his wife and two younger children. He has coached in both baseball and basketball community recreation leagues.
November Election
Miami County’s Treasurer’s office is currently served by Pat Quillen whose seat is up for grabs in November. David Mihalyo looks forward to a competitive race and is making every attempt to meet residents of Miami County and learn how the office of Treasurer can better serve them.
