USAF Gen. Wolfenbarger to help open Vectren Dayton Air Show Presented by Kroger

Dayton, Ohio—Gen. Janet Wolfenbarger, commander of the Air Force Materiel Command at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and one of the Air Force’s top officers, will take part in opening ceremonies at the Vectren Dayton Air Show Presented by Kroger at noon on June 28 at Dayton International Airport.

The 1976 graduate of Beavercreek High School heads a major Air Force command with a $60 billion budget and more than 80,000 people nationwide. Gen. Wolfenbarger was the first woman to attain the four-star rank. Joining her at show center will be Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley, Vandalia Mayor Arlene Setzer, Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio President Colleen Ryan, Kroger District Manager Clint Rose and Michael Emoff, chair of the United States Air and Trade Show Board of Trustees.

They will open a world-class show featuring the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the U.S. Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier, the Air Force Academy’s Wings of Blue parachute team and the U.S. Coast Guard’s HH-65 Dolphin search-and rescue demonstration. Civilian performers include Sean D. Tucker, Patty Wagstaff, the North American AeroShell Aerobatic Team, the F-86 Sabre, P-51D Mustang and F4U-5 Corsair warbirds, the Shockwave jet truck and the Wright “B” Flyer, with additional aircraft on static display.

Ticket prices remain unchanged from 2013. Deep discount general admission tickets are on sale at more than 100 Kroger stores in the Dayton-Cincinnati region. Tickets are also available at www.daytonairshow.com. The Greater Dayton RTA will provide continuous express shuttle service from the National Museum of the Air Force to the show’s
main gate for $3 per round trip. Hourly shuttle service also is available from Wright Stop Plaza in downtown Dayton. The regular RTA fare structure applies from downtown. Express shuttle service will run between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
