WACO Airfield Welcomes New Museum

The WACO Museum and Aviation Learning Center, dedicated to the Weaver Aircraft Company, has moved from their previous location in downtown Troy to newly-renovated digs at the WACO Airfield at 1865 S. County Road 24-A. The larger location will allow the museum to display planes and larger items, something the Troy location did not allow for.

“The grand opening is just to showcase the grand re-opening of the WACO museum,” said Karen Purke, executive director of the museum. “Being able to have airplanes in the museum is probably the biggest change with the new location,” Purke told the Troy Daily News.

The museum will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5. Admission is $5 for adults. Students and those under 18 get in free. For more information, call (937) 335-9226.
