Good Shepherd Church, located at 1209 South Miami Street in West Milton, will be unveiling their newest worship service beginning Sunday, June 6th, 2010 at 11:00 am.
“This is an exciting time in the life of the Church,” according to Pastor Mel Musser. The new service is known as the Praise and Celebration Service and is designed to reach out to people who have not been to church ever, or for a long time.
“Coming to Church for the first time or returning to a church after being gone for a while can be intimidating. We want to make this Praise and Celebration Service inviting to all people so everyone can experience the love of God,” Pastor Mel explained.
“We currently offer a Liturgical Worship Service that emphasizes the music and words handed down from generation to generation since the Lutheran Reformation of the 16th Century.” Pastor Musser continued, “This new Praise and Celebration Service will bring worship into the 21st century.”
Pastor Musser has been at Good Shepherd for about two years and stated that his congregation is growing. “We had a seven and a half percent increase in our average attendance last year over the year before.” He said. “Besides adding the new Praise and Celebration Service, we’ve also been concentrating on serving our neighbors here in West Milton.” Good Shepherd offered garden plots free to the community this year for the first time. They are also the Angelfood Ministries distribution site for West Milton and the surrounding area.
“Our purpose is to share the Good News of God’s grace through worshiping, teaching, and reaching out to all in need of God’s love, Pastor Musser said. “We are always on the lookout for ways to serve our community with new ministries and this new worship service is just the latest attempt to reach out to those who need to hear that God loves them.”
Those wishing to experience this grace given by God are invited to come and see for themselves that worshiping God can be fun, enthusiastic, and uplifting as well beginning June 6th at 11:00 a.m.
