West Milton Rotary – April 2, 2012

Randy Yoakum, program host, invited his niece, April McDivitt, as the guest speaker at the April 2 West Milton Rotary Club. McDivitt, was the 1999 Indiana Miss Basketball (an award given to the state’s top basketball player) while playing at Connersville High School. She then played under the legendary Coach Pat Summit at the University of Tennessee, where she took the team to two Final Four appearances, three Sweet 16’s, and was named an Academic All-American for all four years while in college. April spent her final year of college at the University of California at Santa Barbera taking them to the Sweet 16 for the first time in school history. April is currently an assistant coach for the boy’s basketball team at Park Tudor in Indiana, the 2011 and 2012 State Champions and the co-owner (with former Wright State coach Ed Schilling) and director of Coaches Academy, an online coach’s mentor program. She was a Division 1 Assistant Coach for four years at UCSB and part of three WNBA teams (Liberty, Lynx and Mystics).
