Luke Kahlig, program host, provided his own program at the March 26 West Milton Rotary Club. Kahlig, a basketball fan and enthusiast, who has sons playing basketball at the University of Findlay and at Fort Recovery High School, presented to his fellow Rotarians a brief history of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. He covered a variety of statistics, important dates and other facts and figures of the most popular tournament in college sports. It also serves as the biggest gambling activity of the year. With excitement near its highest with the Ohio State University Men’s basketball team participating in this year’s final four, Luke mentioned
the relationship of the NIT to the NCAA, the expansion of the tournament over the years, the number of championships of the five most successful college basketball teams, and the total worth of the latest annual financial agreement with CBS/TBS and the NCAA, $500 million.
