On Sunday we received notice from several soon-to-be brides who had scheduled either their wedding or reception at Tipp City’s premiere bed and breakfast, the Willowtree Inn at 1900 W. State Route 571. We worked with the Tipp City Area Chamber of Commerce on Monday morning to confirm the brides’ claims… that the Willowtree Inn indeed closed its doors on Feb 1st.
Sunday evening we noticed that the website had been taken down, along with their facebook and twitter pages. Calls went unanswered to to the disconnected phone number on record.
Kevin Lett, the owner of the Willowtree Inn could not be contacted for more details however WDTN TV was able to speak with him and they confirmed that all those with reservations made with the Inn would be notified by mail, and along with the notice of the unfortunate closure, they would receive the refund of any deposits made with the Inn.
The renovation and maintenance of the Willowtree Inn was a proud achievement for Tipp City as it provided high end accommodations for local guests and VIP’s, a fabulous outdoor wedding and reception venue and even a “field of dreams” for Tipp City’s Canal Jumper vintage baseball team.
