TRON: Legacy hits theaters December 17th, 2010

tronComp_refDisney Entertainment’s much anticipated release of TRON: Legacy is scheduled to open this time next year (December 17th, 2010).  The film was filmed and produced using advanced Dolby 3D Digital technology as well as IMAX 3D in order to deliver the highest level of sensory overload in this sci-fi thriller reprise of the 1982 classic.

Fans of the original film TRON (1982) will be pleased to find that the movie stars from that film play much more than cameo appearances in TRON: Legacy. Steve Lisberger who co-wrote and directed the original TRON (1982) comes back, this time as producer of TRON: Legacy. Jeff Bridges reprises the role of Kevin Flynn and Bruce Boxleitner comes back on screen in  the roles of Alan Bradley and Tron which they both originated in TRON (1982).

TRON: Legacy is a 3D high-tech adventure about a father and son (JEFF BRIDGES, GARRETT HEDLUND) who embark on a life-and-death journey of escape across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.

Other production notes that I was able to gather identify Grammy Award-winning Daft Punk as the group who is writing the score and producing the soundtrack for TRON: LEGACY
