Letter to the Editor August 4, 2011

To the Editor,

Sunday I had the opportunity to attend the “Every Tombstone Has A Story…” event at West Milton’s Riverside  Cemetery.  The event used local citizens to depict past West Miltonians and their contributions both locally and nationally.  The folks who portrayed the personalities and histories did an outstanding job of helping everyone “feel” the character they represented.

We indeed have a rich history with many individuals that we can be proud of.  Bob Menker, Rex Maggart, Cheryl Swartz, Phil Brumbaugh, Rachel Ann Minnich and Barbara Cecil did such a great job of acting their parts that it was easy to be transported back into history – back to the days of community pride and individual ingenuity.

This is an event that is very much worth repeating. There is a great deal of history as well life lessons that we could all learn from.

Thanks to everyone involved in making this such a wonderful experience.
