A Message From Your Superintendent

Dr. Ginny Rammel

A CAUSE FOR CELEBRATION! –

M-U SCHOOLS EARNED AN “EXCELLENT” RATING ON THE ‘10-‘11 STATE REPORT CARD! Thanks to staff and to you, the
community, for the hard work and diligence required as we focused on our vision of “Every Student, Every Day.” Our attendance and graduation rates have also increased, 95.3% and 95.1% respectively.

While we are pleased with our performance, we continue to strategize to better meet the needs of each of our students. Our Continuous Improvement Plan Team has established two goals for this coming year:

Create literacy opportunities in all subjects at all grade levels and
Create effective working relationships with parents and community partners

As demonstrated with the inclusion of our second goal, we realize more than ever that we need YOU – parent, grandparent, community member to work alongside us! This could mean spending more time at home helping with homework or cultivating a special interest in science or reading; it might mean volunteering some time listening to a child read. Be a part of our community by instilling the love for learning in our students.

Never before has a thirst for learning been more important!

While we recognize and appreciate our academic success, we also commend the Board of Education for the fiscal responsibility they continue to demonstrate to the community. While we have eliminated staffing positions, we have also added researched-based programs that will increase student readiness for learning: all day, every day kindergarten and two sections of Head Start.

This, in addition to our beautiful K-12 building being constructed at Lowry at a less-than-average cost for an OSFC facility!

Exciting times! Come get involved – join the fun at our fall activities! Let’s celebrate our community together.

Sincerely,

Ginny Rammel
